Francine Madrid, Somatic Midwife
Midwifery, Bodywork, Plant Medicines, Somatic Sex Educator in Training (She/Her)
My path to this work began as a child in the kitchens and living rooms of my Grandmothers.
I would sit quietly and listen attentively as Elders spoke of old family stories, remedios, birth, death, God, seemingly magical occurrences ---topics so mysterious and exciting to my young mind!
Even as a child, I felt an incredibly strong connection to my ancestors and traditional practices.
As I grew into an adult, I searched for work that would honor my traditions while still being of service in the modern world.
I went on to formally study biology , massage therapy, dance, bodywork, herbalism, various forms of yoga and midwifery.
I'm a life long learner and love to spend time taking deep, deep dives into topics that expand my skills for the wellbeing of my clients as well as myself and my community.
In my practice and life I honor, love and welcome Queer, Trans/2Spirit People and People of the Global Majority (BIPOC).
Outside of my work time you can catch me at the farmers market, on the dance floor, swimming in the ocean, climbing rocks, playing with plants or making art!
With gratitude, I thank my Teachers, Elders, Community and my beautiful Partner and Children for their support.
